My name is Stephanie Holmes and the world I have created in my artwork shows an intentional dismissal of modern society and technology in order to return to a place of unencumbered innocence. I want the viewer to be confronted with a place that is moss-covered, dotted with mushroom caps, and home to many strange yet magnificent creatures, much like my childhood mind saw the world as I explored and fell in love with the wildness of Southern Pennsylvania. My work flows from eliciting feelings of nostalgia and a loss of youth, to uninhibited innocence. My work can be seen at the Brooklyn Art Library in a permanent collection, and was included in a group exhibition at the Manheim Public Library, among other things. I am currently pursuing my BFA in Ceramics and Drawing.
